Ahuna and EWU take a game from Hawai’i

The Eastern Washington Eagles team closed out the Outrigger Hotels Tournament with a 1-3 loss (19-25, 19-25, 25-22, 20-25) to Hawai’i. The tournament was the homecoming for Pilipa’a’s (’15) Ka’iu Ahuna. Ahuna had one kill on 4 attempts , a block assist and huge solo
block on the Wahine’s 6’4″ star Nikki Taylor. Despite the Eagles finishing 0-3 for the tournament, Eagles Head Coach Wade Benson was encouraged by their performance. EWU took games off of #2 ranked Florida and #16 ranked Hawaii.
Eastern will complete non-conference play with its first home match of the season this Thursday, Sept. 17, when Corban visits Reese Court. The match is scheduled to begin at 3pm (HST). The match is scheduled to be webcast at the following link: webcast
