Ahuna signs with EWU

Hilo, Hawaii –  Ka’iulani Ahuna has signed a national letter of intent to play college volleyball for Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington.

Ahuna, an 8-year veteran of Pilipa’a Girls volleyball was also a 4-year starter at Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii where she earned first team all-conference honors as a Sophomore, first team all-conference, BIIF Player of the Year, and State of Hawaii Fab 15 recognition as a Junior.  She also was a member of the USA Volleyball Women’s Junior A1 National Training Team this past summer.

“I’m very proud of Ka’iu and excited that she has the opportunity to pursue her dream of playing Division I college volleyball, said long-time coach Chris Leonard.  “She has worked very hard to get where she is and I know that she will excel athletically and academically at the next level,” added Leonard.

Ahuna will play for Coach Wade Benson and his Division I Eastern Washington Eagles in the Big Sky Conference.
