Pilipa'a Volleyball

Atlanta 09 – Day 6 (18’s Game Day 3)

The Pilipa’a 18’s have found their stride.  Although they are no longer in the hunt for the gold, Pilipa’a has now won seven consecutive matches.

The 18’s compiled a 4-0 record today and are now 8-3 for the tournament.  Although the boys are dissapointed that they are not playing for the Gold, they continue to meet the challenges in front of them rather than look back at those that they can not change.

Pilipa’a made quick work of their first several opponents today, defeating HVA 18-1 of Texas (25-11, 25-17), Kaizen Boys 18’s of Oklahoma (25-19, 25-21) and Coastal of Virginia (25-13, 25-18). Their last match of the night was a rematch with their first-round opponent and last year’s bronze medalist FSVBC.  It turned out to be another great contest with Pilipa’a putting on an incredible defensive display that frustrated the high-flying team from Florida.  Pilipa’a defeated FSVBC in three games (25-15, 25-27, 15-13).

Pilipa’a will play the winner of Coastal VA and Irish Juniors tomorrow afternoon at 1pm (EST).
