Fuata signs with Minot State

Alison Fuata (’15)  has signed a National Letter of Intent to play college volleyball for the Minot State Beavers in Minot, North Dakota.

Fuata started at outside hitter for three years with the  Pilipa’a girls program and was a starting  outside hitter at Waiakea High School.  She was a member of the Moku O Keawe Regional High Performance team that competed in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championship Tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 2013. Fuata was also a standout soccer player at Waiakea.

Minot State assistant coach Reyn Cefra is excited about Fuata joining the team and said,   “…she has a very high volleyball IQ, great ball control and is exciting to watch.”

“I’m very proud of Alison for working hard to earn this opportunity to play Division II volleyball.  It wasn’t always easy, but she has persevered and I am thrilled that she is being rewarded for her efforts, said Pilipa’a Girls’ Club Director and Coach Chris Leonard.
