GANSEVOORT, N.Y. – Wells College freshman Anuhea Leite-AhYo (outside hitter) was selected as the Northeastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) Rookie of the Year and was also named to the NEAC All-Conference second team.  Leite-AhYo is an original member of the Pilipa’a girls volleyball program and a 2014 graduate of Kamehameha-Hawaii.  She ranked second in total kills among all NEAC freshman with 263.  Anuhea made a significant impact in her conference and on her team with her passing and defense as well.  She leads her Wells College Express team with the best serve receive percentage  with only 31 errors in 550 serve reception attempts. She also leads the Express with 6 double-doubles  (kills/digs) against conference opponents.  She is averaging 2.93 digs per set to rank  in the top-20 student athletes in the NEAC.

“In a year with so many excellent upper classmen, Leite-Ah Yo  stands out as an excellent first year player who had an incredible role on this team as an anchor in our pass and defense,” said Wells College Express Head Coach Richard Gary who was selected as the NEAC Coach of the Year.
